Biological Treatments

Where a high level of wastewater treatment is required, Apex have the expertise and experience to provide advanced biological treatments including sequencing batch reactors (SBR), membrane bioreactors (MBR) and biological nutrient removal systems.

SBR systems offer a complete treatment process, including aeration, settling and discharge phases, in a single tank or pond, reducing the need for additional equipment.

MBR systems offer a very high level of treatment in a compact plant. Incorporating ultra-fine membrane filters, treated wastewater with very low levels of BOD, suspended solids and coliforms can be produced.

Through processes such as nitrification/denitrification, solids removal and precipitation, removal of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewaters can be achieved.
